Ramadan in Imsouane: What to Expect at the Surf Camp

Experiencing Ramadan in Imsouane is a unique way to discover Morocco.
Between spirituality, a slower pace of life, and moments of connection, this period brings a special atmosphere to our surf village.
At Travel Surf Morocco, we are celebrating our 10th Ramadan in Imsouane this year — a decade of unforgettable sunsets, shared iftars, and waves ridden together.

🌙 What is Ramadan?

Ramadan is the holy month of Islam. It commemorates the revelation of the Quran to the Prophet Muhammad and is one of the five pillars of the religion. During this month, Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset, abstaining from food and drink, while focusing on prayer, reflection, and acts of kindness.
Fasting is not only about abstaining from food — it’s a time for gratitude, self-reflection, and generosity.
In Imsouane, this translates into a calmer atmosphere during the day, followed by vibrant and communal evenings.

Good news: at TSM, surf lessons run with the same professionalism and energy. Our instructors fast, but their commitment in the water remains strong. Schedule adjustments ensure their comfort, often with stunning early-morning sessions. The surf spot is often quieter, especially at sunrise.
For our guests:
– Meals are served as usual
– No dietary restrictions are imposed
– You can fully enjoy your surf experience while respecting local culture

🍲 Culinary Experience During Ramadan in Imsouane

Experiencing Ramadan in Imsouane also means savoring Moroccan cuisine at its most generous and traditional. At sunset, the Ftour (meal to break the fast) features iconic dishes: harira (hearty soup with legumes), dates and milk to gently break the fast, chebbakia with honey and sesame, Slilou for energy, and mint tea alongside other sweet and savory treats.
At the surf camp, guests continue to enjoy their regular meals while having the chance to taste these Ramadan specialties — a moment of conviviality, cultural discovery, and sharing.

🤍 A Special Time for the TSM Family

Ramadan in Imsouane is also a moment of unity for our team. Each evening, we share the Ftour together — a time of gratitude, cohesion, and connection. This year marks our 10th Ramadan celebrated as the TSM Family — a decade of growing together, welcoming travelers from all over the world, and creating bonds around the ocean.
For our guests, it’s often a chance to experience something authentic, beyond typical tourism, at the heart of a warm Morocco.
